The new Yamaha DM5 range has two different options ideal for touring, with customizable workflows and the same high-quality processing as the DM series.
With nearly 30 years of background in digital live mixing consoles, Yamaha delivers the level of reliability and audio quality that professionals trust. The DM5 represents the next logical step in the evolution of live mixing, streamlining existing processes with an interface that can become like second nature to engineers.
Yamaha DM5 Series
The DM5 Series consists of two different models: a flagship 60-input version (DM5) and a compact 48-input version (DM5C). Both models have the same mix architecture, with 24 mix buses, 12 matrices, two stereo buses, and a cue bus. While the larger DM5 has 32 analog inputs, the DM5 Compact halves this input count, naturally due to its smaller form factor.
From the channel strips with flexible processing order, you have extensive processing options, including classic compressor models, gates, de-essers, expanders, and ducking processors. What’s more, the EQs feature real-time analysis, and there are four different algorithms, including Precise, Aggressive, Smooth, and Legacy.
While there are 43 reverb, delay, modulation, and saturation effects, the level of processing can also be further expanded with the optional Yamaha PY-DSP 32-slot card, which is also compatible with DM7 consoles and includes a premium plugin bundle. This gives you access to the Rupert Neve Designs Portico 5033 equalizer, 5043 compressor, and 5045 primary source enhancer plugins.
The operating interface uses tiltable 13.3-inch multitouch main displays, smaller 4.3-inch utility displays, and a set of uniquely tactile glass keys linked to a dynamic LCD panel that displays a different set of functions depending on the layer or aspect of the console you’re using. In addition, there is a 12-channel Dugan Automixing feature which can be expanded with a paid license to give you 40 and 60 channels of Dan Dugan auto-mixing for the DM5C and DM5 respectively.
