Strymon Cloudburst Ambient Reverb

An Italian dealer has leaked a new Strymon. Cloudburst Ambient Reverb pedal. Apparently, it will be an ambient reverb in a smaller more compact pedal housing.
UPDATE 02/02/23
Turns out it was legit and you can pre-order them now and check out the official demo video below.
Pre-order now here at Thomann (affiliate) for 277.00 euros.
Strymon Cloudburst Ambient Reverb
An Italian dealer was a bit hasty publishing a page and it appeared on Google search for Strymon reverbs. Thankfully, this page was also cached by Google despite the page already being taken offline. I found this leak myself and put it on my personal guitar blog where it was picked up by some of the regular readers.
Two Leaks
I was then contacted by readers who had also found more information from yet another Italian online store, so it looks like it is real and not fake. More information has surfaced slowly over on TGP and Reddit.
Ambient Reverb
Cloudburst is the name of Strymon’s effect pedal. It is referred to as an Ambient Reverb and looks to be another DSP-based effect device. It is also highly likely to be a variation on an existing reverb algorithm from the company’s Big Sky reverb pedal.
My guess is that Strymon is getting as much mileage from their BigSky algorithm as possible. Which would make sense after the release of last year’s BigSky Plugin.
Expected features
Unfortunately, there is only a pretty small low-resolution picture. The page at the dealer also reveals nothing more than the name and price of 319 euros.
The controls we can see consist of Decay, Mix, Pre-Delay, Tone and Mod. Plus, a toggle switch with an “Ensemble” label and three positions.
In addition, there are three connections on the top. Input, output and maybe a TRS-FX loop or a stereo out? Or Expression/CV/MIDI connection? Anything would be possible, but the loop is unlikely with a reverb.
Official information
There is currently no more official information available.
Not everyone wants and needs the scope of the Big Sky* and they cost 529 euros*. However, the price difference between a single algorithm vs. 12 reverbs would make this new pedal quite expensive.
A date of 6 February was also shown by another Italian dealer. Therefore it could be out very soon.
MSRP – €319?
