The Console 1 Compact provides a layered workflow with control of preamps, compression, EQ, and tape saturation. Besides Softube’s range of plugins, the Console 1 Compact will also support popular options from developers like UAD, Plugin Alliance, FabFilter, and others within all major DAW systems.
The core elements of the larger Console 1 Channel Mk III are covered in a more streamlined package, ideal for setups running low on desk space or throwing in your backpack when it’s time to hit the road. Also, the Console 1 Compact is a perfect partner for the Flow Studio, providing a huge range of control and workflow functions together within a small footprint.
Within the included Core Mixing Suite, you’ll find a Softube Tape/Preamp section, a Shape section for transient processing, passive and modern EQs, and three compressors inspired by the 1176, SSL Bus, and LA-2A. This seemingly small selection of tools provides a great starting point, covering essential tools for mixing that are likely to see action on almost every project.
The anodized aluminium controller is equipped with 16 touch-sensitive Analog Feel
rotary controls, providing knob-per-function control in different layers. Also, there is a high-res smart screen which ties the design together, providing metering or readings of the control values. Overall, this intelligently designed controller provides a more affordable way to get into the Console 1 environment.
