Free Plugins of the Week
Orra Audio Orra Pump: Drawable Modulation Galore!

The name gives it away: Orra Pump by Orra Audio is your one-stop shop for pumping sidechain effects – without fiddling with a compressor! This free plugin locks to your beat and delivers tempo-synced pumping effects, and so much more.
Orra Pump lets you freely draw the modulation curve. It can sync to any note division, but you can also let it run free or trigger it using a sidechain audio signal. There’s even a drawable swing grid, so you’re not limited to straight 8th or 16th notes.
For the classic pumping effect, you can use it to automate the volume of your track. But it can actually do a whole lot more: Besides Volume, Orra Pump offers five additional modulation targets, including pan and four different filters. There’s even a mid/side mode, which allows you to do things like filter the center of your mix while leaving the sides unaffected. A fantastic free plugin that belongs in any producer’s toolkit!
Orra Pump is available for macOS and Windows in VST3, AU, and AAX formats.
Jeesonic EQ Pro: Free Dynamic Equalizer with 24 Bands

Looking for a free alternative to FabFilter Pro Q? Jeesonic EQ Pro should get the job done nicely. This impressive free equalizer offers up to 24 dynamic bands, each offering a choice of shapes, including bells, shelves, low cut/high cut filters, notch, and tilt EQ. You can type in the values or intuitively adjust the EQ by dragging the curve – this is seriously professional-looking stuff for a free plugin.
Each band also offers a full set of dynamic controls, including threshold, ratio (all the way up to brickwall limiting), knee, attack, and release. You can even specify per band whether it listens to an external or internal sidechain. Add to that an auto gain feature, stereo and mid/side processing, up to 4x oversampling, and selectable phase (zero latency, natural, linear), and you’ve got a free EQ whose capabilities knock some of the big guys out of the park. Fantastic!
EQ Pro is available for macOS and Windows in VST3 and AU formats.
Sketch Audio Series 9000: Free Filter Inspired by the Legendary S900

Series 9000 by Sketch Audio brings that vintage sampler sound to your DAW! This freebie is inspired by the steep sixth-order low-pass filter from the legendary AKAI S900.
But they didn’t stop there. While the original filter famously lacked resonance, Series 9000 offers it, and then some: “For fun”, Sketch Audio has thrown in filter overdrive and an envelope follower. A fun free filter that takes you back to the golden age of sampling!
Series 9000 is available for macOS and Windows in VST3, AU, AAX, and CLAP versions. There’s also a version for iOS.
