Deadloop Moonverb: Free Shimmer Reverb
Moonverb by Deadloop is a free reverb plugin with a bunch of features normally only found in expensive plugins. As the name suggests, Moonverb is all about turning your sounds into ethereal, otherworldly atmospheres. It’s based on an 8-line feedback delay network engine with nested allpass diffusion and dual-band damping for a dense, lush, and natural effect.
Besides the usual reverb controls like Mix, Decay, Damp, and Pre-Delay, Moonverb offers a Shimmer knob that introduces a pitch-shifted feedback path an octave above the original signal. This creates the classic Shimmer effect, sending your tracks straight into orbit.
Moreover, Moonverb also has a Freeze button that lets you capture any moment and hold it in the reverb forever. Great for frozen pads and drones! And if you fancy some movement, turn up the LFO modulation to create chorus-like reverb effects.
Moonverb is available for macOS and Windows in VST3 and AU formats.
Polarity Productions Polarity-RES: Creative 32-Band Resonator
Polarity-RES is a resonator effect with a visual editor. You can create unique harmonic structures by adding up to 32 bandpass filters by clicking and dragging the spectrum graph. The X position controls the frequency; the Y position controls the band gain.
Bands can also snap to notes and harmonic series for more musical, natural-sounding timbres. A Learn function lets you capture a target shape. What’s more, Polarity-RES also receives MIDI, so the resonators can track incoming MIDI notes and follow them. And thanks to the built-in pink noise exciter, you can use the plugin as a self-oscillating sound source, even without any input signal.
Polarity-RES is available for macOS, Windows, and Linux in VST3, AU, and CLAP formats.
nClear SIBALANCE and VOCRIDE: Free Vocal Processing Plugins
nClear has released two free vocal shaping plugins. SIBALANCE is a de-esser and sibilance shaper that helps control sharp ’s’ and ‘sh’ sounds. You can adjust the sensitivity, sibilance reduction, and smoothing. A Delta monitoring feature lets you listen to what’s being removed, and there’s a handy visualizer that shows you what’s going on.
VOCRIDE is a pitch-aware harmonic EQ. Rather than using fixed EQ bands, the plugin tracks the vocal fundamental and moves with it. There are controls for boosting or reducing the fundamental and the second harmonic, which is great for adding weight, focus, or clarity at the exact frequencies the voice is actually singing.
SIBALANCE and VOCRIDE are available for macOS and Windows in VST3, AU, and CLAP formats.
