The Mackie Thrashv2 is an affordable but powerful full-range loudspeaker that comes in two sizes, now with a modern feature upgrade for added flexibility.
Up until now, the Thrash was Mackie’s more straightforward analog option, ideal for sound systems with a mixing board to make the necessary adjustments for the venue and performers.

The Thrashv2 is powered by a 1300W Class-D amplifier and features a single XLR combo input, Bluetooth connectivity, and wireless speaker pairing. Available in 12-inch and 15-inch versions, the Thrashv2 can be used in a variety of ways, including sound reinforcement for live instruments, DJ sound systems, and as a stage monitor.
To get the best profile for these different applications, the Thrashv2 has four different voicing modes: a flat response setting for general PA use, a DJ setting, a live music setting, and a wedge setting. Meanwhile, the input stage has a gain control and mic/line signal selector switch, and there is a speaker-level control knob and a Feedback Eliminator button.
This is ideal for small venues or tight stage setups where you can’t always keep the mic at an optimum distance to reduce the risk of feedback. The Thrashv2 is easily transportable in its optional speaker bags, and it’s compatible with the SPM400 speaker pole for mounting above a subwoofer, as well as the T100 tripod stand.
While Mackie has added DSP to the Thrashv2 to compete with other speakers in this price range, it still retains its identity. Rather than making it a more complicated speaker to set up and use, it’s still as easy as it was, and the built-in digital features simply add to the convenience, allowing anyone to enjoy the Thrashv2, whether you’re an experienced engineer or not.
