Guitar Journal: Kramer Malina Moye

This week, we check out the latest Kramer Guitars signature model for Malina Moye, who has a new Pacer Deluxe model. Over the weekend, Third Man Hardware and 1981 Inventions launched a highly limited-run pedal, so we take a brief look at the Mod DRV next. Finally, Gibson has just announced yet another new store location, in Vegas!

Malina Moye Pacer Deluxe

The Malina Moye Pacer Deluxe is Kramer Guitars’ first signature model for a female artist. This new model comes in a Splash Blue finish with a Tortoiseshell pickguard and gold hardware throughout.

Kramer is celebrating 50 years, and this is its latest signature release, and I believe it’s their first female artist signature model. It has an alder body and a maple neck with a skunk stripe, so it has classic S-style styling, just with a reverse headstock.

Left Handed

As Malina is left-handed, Kramer is releasing her signature guitar in both right- and left-handed versions. The hardware includes a two-point non-locking vibrato system ( no Floyd on a Kramer is unusual) and a set of Kramer locking tuners.

DiMarzio

This signature model comes fitted with DiMarzio pickups in all three positions: a Super Distortion humbucker in the bridge, an Area 67 single-coil in the middle, and a Virtual Vintage Blues in the neck. This should offer a variety of great tones, and the control layout consists of a five-way switch, a master volume control, and tone knobs for the middle and neck pickups.

MSRP – $1299/£1199

Mod DRV

The Mod DRV is a very limited run, and they only released 65 units! This collaboration between Jack White’s Third Man Hardware and1981 Inventions celebrated EarthQuaker Day 2026, which was on 1st August 2026.

If you missed out on last week’s collaboration with Beetronics, then you probably missed this one as well!

Originally designed by Relient K’s Matthew Hoopes and Bondi Effects’ John Ashley, the 1981 Inventions DRV is a pedalboard staple. This Third Man Hardware collaboration pushes the circuit into a new direction.

Fine-tuned directly by Third Man with hand-selected components, this modded DRV is the most aggressive, thick, and responsive version yet. With an expanded low-end response, it is designed to transition from Jack White’s favoured guitar crunch to handling heavy bass rigs.

BIG EAR pedals

This limited-run pedal comes powder-coated in vibrant Third Man Yellow; its bent aluminum body celebrates Akron, Ohio, with custom artwork of Northeast Ohio’s famous black squirrel perched atop a pile of Third Man logos.

Designed by BIG EAR pedals’ Karen Schierhorn and Grant Wilson, each unit includes a 5”x7” art print card that doubles as the instruction manual for the pedal.

These will have sold out by now, but they were priced at $279 each, which is pretty reasonable for a modified DRV circuit.

Gibson announces another new store!

Gibson has just announced its latest Gibson Garage location in Las Vegas.

This opening a 10,000-square-foot Gibson Garage at the Miracle Mile Shops on the Las Vegas Strip in 2027. Following successful locations in Nashville and London, and an upcoming September 2026 launch in Miami, this fourth store will feature their usual range of rare guitars, live performances, and music history, with the vibrant energy of Las Vegas.

Vegas, Baby!

Designed as an immersive music destination, the venue will feature dramatic architecture, massive rooms, soaring ceilings, and a dedicated stage for live events.

Obviously, we don’t know exactly what it will look like yet, as all we have is a rendered image, but it will be in Vegas, and so it should be pretty sweet! They have only just announced the new Miami store, which opens this September, so we are in a new store launch soon anyway.

It looks like Gibson is opening stores in some prime locations worldwide, so where will be next?

If you can’t make it to any of their stores, then you can still shop Gibson at Thomann.
