Gibson Garage Miami
Yes, Gibson Garage has officially opened in Miami, and they celebrated the opening with a host of exclusive guitars from Gibson and Epiphone. These models draw inspiration from Miami’s Art Deco style and South Florida’s bright colours; the standout models were from Epiphone, with bright neon finishes, while the Gibson models opted for softer pastels.
Third Garage Opening
This is the third Gibson Garage following the Nashville and London stores, and a forthcoming Las Vegas store is coming next. These stores are helping the brand grow stronger and reach a wider audience, a bit like Disneyland for guitars. Anyone can walk in and buy a T-shirt or a baseball cap without needing to know how to play a guitar. A smart move if you want to print money, as the audience is much larger.
Miami Vice Baby!
The Epiphone models include Explorer, Flying V, Flying V 70s, SG Standard 60s, and Les Paul Custom. These are available in exclusive Vice City Pink, Vice City Blue, and Bumblebee Yellow finishes. All you need now is a pair of espadrilles, rolled-up jacket sleeves, and a Ferrari Testarossa!

They also had some limited-edition all-white and gold MESA/Boogie products, plus an ultra-exclusive Gibson Custom SJ-200 Art Deco in Argentine Grey where you had to call for the price. Plus, a lot of Miami-exclusive merch in classic colours to match the launch’s bright guitars.
It looks like the new store could be well worth a visit if you are in the area.
Pink Floyd £4.75k Plectrum
Pink Floyd partnered with the British Royal Mint for these exclusive £4.75k Pink Floyd Plectrums, and only 10 units exist worldwide. The design is based on The Dark Side of the Moon prism-and-rainbow artwork originally designed by Henry Gray.
Possibly the dumbest guitar news I have written about in ages, but hey, some idiot will buy one, I’m sure.
A New Car, Caviar…
If your budget doesn’t quite stretch to a gold plectrum at nearly £5k, then they also do a Silver Pick for £130 and a Bronze Pick for £40. I’m not sure you could brag about owning a gold Pink Floyd plectrum, as you would probably get laughed out of the building for wasting so much money on one.
A new car, caviar, four-star daydream, think I’ll buy me a £4.75k gold plectrum. Not.
Offset Guitar Builder
The Offset Guitar Builder has just been launched as a public beta, and this one is all on me. Yes, I’m the crazy offset guitar-obsessed fool who spent all summer coding with my partner (she loves coding, and I apparently love breaking code) to recreate the much-loved but now-defunct OSG Dressing Room.
It lets you take your offset guitar and customize its look and styling ‘virtually’, so you can see how it could look. For example, if you own a Squier J.Mascis Jazzmaster or a Fender Am Pro in Faded Sherwood Metallic Green and want to see how it would look with a different pickguard, pickups, or finish. Or maybe you are building your own guitar and want to try out some looks before you commit.
Since the launch on 8 September, we have added the Bass VI and Electric XII models to the beta, so now you have four models to play with, including the Jazzmaster and Jaguar!
OSG Dressing Room
Originally conceived as the Flash-based “Dressing Room” by OSG forum admin mynameisjonas, the platform allowed offset guitar enthusiasts to spend countless hours designing their dream instruments. Since Flash was deprecated, the tool has been unavailable, leaving a void in the offset community, and many OSG members have asked for its return for the last decade or so.
To honor the original, we have rebuilt the editor from the ground up. The new Offset Guitar Builder keeps the spirit of the classic Dressing Room while adding expanded custom options, a nice, neat, mobile-responsive interface, and modern architecture.
Community Driven & 100% Free
We are working with the guitar community to provide this fun tool for free. Following overwhelmingly positive global feedback, we’ve already added left-handed options, high-res JPEG downloads, and extended custom finishes.
After the Public Beta has finished, the Offset Guitar Builder will remain 100% free to use. For now, we hope users will use the built-in feedback form to help us find bugs and glitches or request new features.
