The new Gibson Original Collection acoustic guitars pair classic good looks with the LR Baggs HiFi DNA pickup system. Let’s check out the four new models!
Gibson Original Collection: First Impression
Gibson expands its Original Collection with four new acoustic guitars that combine traditional details with modern pickup technology. If you’re a fan of timeless looks but also want to benefit from a professional pickup system, these new models are definitely worth a closer look. The following guitars were unveiled today: J-45 Original, J-45 60s Original Fixed Bridge, Country Western 60s Original, and Southern Jumbo 40s Original.
LR Baggs HiFi DNA
Introduced just last month, the LR Baggs HiFi DNA pickup system is specially optimized for Gibson acoustic guitars. The active system features two lightweight sensors on the inside of the bridge plate, with a dedicated preamp for each sensor. This way, the warmth, dynamics, and detail of the guitar are captured without compromising the unplugged sound. Sounds like a winner to me! With this system, the guitars should feel right at home on stage.

Other Ingredients
Despite their different styles and historical references, the four models have a few things in common. All feature a solid Sitka spruce top and a glued neck. Rosewood is used for the fingerboard and bridge. The string contact points are also consistent: the nut and bridge insert are made of bone on all models. A stylish Gibson hard-shell case is included with each of the four models.

Price and Availability
