Morphoice EightyEight: Free Jupiter-8 Emulation for your DAW!

After EightySix, Morphoice is back with yet another emulation of a classic Roland polysynth. And this time, the developer has taken on the king of them all – the mighty Jupiter-8! The plugin is free during the beta period, so grab it while it lasts!
Like the original, EightyEight is a bi-timbral polyphonic synth with two oscillators per voice. However, the developer has taken the liberty of giving both oscillators the full set of waveforms – a welcome improvement over the Jupiter-8. They even went as far as modeling the eight individual voice cards of a vintage unit with all their nonlinearities.
The classic Jupiter filter section with a four-pole low-pass and an added high-pass is, of course, also there, as are the two ADSR envelopes. Although the Jupiter-8 didn’t have a chorus, Morphoice has included the Juno-style chorus from EightySix, as well as the DarkStar reverb and delay engine and the drive/distortion from HeatBurn.
As this is a beta version, some features aren’t implemented yet, namely the arpeggiator, LFO, and cross-modulation. The developer also says that the beta version might stop working once the full release arrives, which would be kind of a bummer. Still, a free Jupiter is always good news, so enjoy it while it lasts!
EightyEight is currently available for free from the developer’s website. However, you can choose to make a contribution to support the development. A contribution of $10 or more earns you a lifetime license once the final release goes on sale. The plugin runs on macOS, Windows, and Linux in VST3 and AU formats.
Hyperfocus DSP NINER: Free Kick Drum Synth

Tired of the same old kick drum sounds? Just make your own! NINER by Hyperfocus DSP is a free kick drum synth that gives you plenty of control over the sound.
The kick drum sounds are made up of three layers: SUB provides the sine-based ‘boom’, MID shapes the body using a sine wave oscillator and noise, and TOP is a band-passed click sound for the percussive attack. Each section offers several dedicated controls for shaping the perfect kick drum for your track. The three components then pass through a master section with an RMS compressor, a transformer-based overdrive, a brickwall limiter, and a tube warmth section.
In addition, NINER includes a parallel 909-style clap voice, as well as a 16-step sequencer. You can also export your kick drum sounds as one-shot samples.
NINER is available for macOS and Windows in VST3 and CLAP formats. There’s no AU version, unfortunately, so Logic users are out of luck.
Dezert Audio Polyfreq: Analog-Modeled Synth with a Soviet Attitude

Polyfreq by Dezert Audio is a virtual analog synth with a ‘bold and unmistakable sound’. While the developer doesn’t mention the Polivoks, the fact that they’ve included a ‘bold Soviet-style analog filter’ makes it pretty clear where this is going.
Polyfreq offers two oscillators, a sub-oscillator, noise, and a nonlinear analog-style filter with low-pass, band-pass, and high-pass modes. For modulation, there are two envelopes and an LFO that delivers sine and triangle waves simultaneously and can be routed to lots of parameters. In addition, the software synth offers a fat unison mode with detune, spread, and drift. Nice!
Polyfreq is available for macOS and Windows in VST3 and AU formats.
